About the 420 Program
The 420 program is an intermediate to advanced sailing program that introduces and furthers the work with trapezes and spinnakers while sailing the 420 sail boat. Developing problem solving abilities, learning how to hike, and learning the theory behind sailing on land. Land classes cover the physics of sailing, sail flow, and sail controls.
Our well-trained instructors follow the sailing fundamental and prepare students to learn and develop the necessary skills to flourish on the water. Typically, sailors spend the entire summer registered. More experienced sailors will be exposed to advanced training by our coaches, as well as have the opportunity to attend various major regattas including CORK in Kingston, Ontario and the 420 North American Championships. Registration for this program will be done by compiling the entire 420 sailor fleet, and coaches will be dividing students into groups based upon their skill level, as well as their desire to progress in the future.
